Llanfechell is a small rural village approximately 2 milesfrom the coastal path, wonderful beaches, harbour and seaside village of Cemaes Bay.

A Christian site from AD 630 the 12c church is dedicated to St Mechell being lenghened in 13c , south transept added in 14c, tower in 16c with dome added to tone down the sound of the bell. The roof was originally thatched. William Bulkeley kept a diary which included parish activities here in 18c.
